As we prepare to move forward again as a church body, let us remember: We exalt, equip and evangelize for Jesus Christ in all that we do. We obey Matthew 28:19: "Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you." (NIV)
We grow because God loves people. We want more people to experience God's love through our ministries. "He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance." - 2 Peter 2:9 (NIV)
We grow because it is God's will. He established His church on earth for all mankind. "But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God."
- John 3:21 (NIV)
Prayer is our foundation. Through prayer, it is essential that we listen and discover God's voice as we ask, "God, what do You want me to do?" We are blessed by God, and now we must bless those who will touch a tomorrow we'll never see. By first giving ourselves to God, we may unite as a church body to serve God tirelessly and faithfully. "Do not change yourselves to be like the people of this world, but be changed within by a new way of thinking. Then you will be able to decide what God wants for you; you will know what is good and pleasing to Him and what is perfect." - Romans 12:2 (NCV)
FBCM is a family with a heart for people. We see overcrowding as a hindrance to growth. We see available space in our facility as a welcoming sign to join our family in worship. We want to be filled with more people who desire to hear God's word. We pray they will accept His Son and grow in their own faith to disciple others.
As we anxiously await the completion of our new addition in the Spring of 2011, we are poised to affect the spiritual futures of people we may never meet. We are, through God's guidance, touching their tomorrow today. We will see the immediate impact this space has on our ministries, but it is the eternal legacy that is the unknown, immeasurable fruit which we have the privilege of planting as seed today. As disciples of Christ to a hurting, fallen world:
We grow because God commands us to reach out to the
world. This new space increases the influence God has given
us to impact our community. "Then the master told his servant, 'Go out to the roads and country lanes and make them come in, so that my house will be full." - Luke 14:23 (NIV)
Please pray. Prayer is our foundation. It is essential that we listen and discover God's voice as we ask, "God, what do You want me to do?" We are blessed by God. Now we must bless those who come after us.
By giving ourselves to God individually, our church can function as a whole and serve God tirelessly and faithfully. "Do not change yourselves to be like the people of this world, but be changed within by a new way of thinking. Then you will be able to decide what God wants for you; you will know what is good and pleasing to Him and what is perfect." - Romans 12:2 (NCV)
